Sonya is going into her senior year at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she is studying Psychological and Brain Sciences with a minor in Spatial Studies. 

Sonya first began volunteering with PeerBuddies during her second year at UCSB as a Buddy with In-Person Private Sessions. She then continued to become a Lead Facilitator as of March 2023. Sonya feels so grateful to be a part of the PeerBuddies team, and that her work is both so fun and rewarding. 

Sonya is originally from the Bay Area in Northern California, and in her free time enjoys surfing, hiking, and doing anything outdoors.
