Laura Cohen is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 20 years experience working with children, adolescents and adults with disabilities.  She obtained her Masters of Science in Counseling and Applied Behavior Analysis from CSULA, where she met her dear friend and inspiring colleague, Elika Shahrestani, and developed expertise in Pivotal Response Treatment and Positive Behavior Supports.  Laura was incredibly honored when Elika asked her to join the PeerBuddies Team in April, 2021 with the vision of expanding PeerBuddies’ services to the greater Bay Area. Laura is beyond thrilled to be working closely with Elika and her exceptional team who all share a deep passion for inclusion and teaching critical and meaningful social skills to individuals with disabilities. Laura and her husband Jesse reside in Benicia, CA with their two extremely active children Jaxton and Anaya.  In her free time, she enjoys powerlifting, playing soccer, and spending lots of quality time with her family and friends.
